Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!! We haven't been much of the Christmas spirit here lately...I think we are just ready to spend time with family. Being away for 4 years does a number on you...so it's always kinda weird this time of year. Anyway just wanted to share a picture of my beautiful Christmas tree. It's my pride and joy this time of year! I love my random eclectic assortment of ornaments I've collected over the years! My Aunt always gets me these beautiful ornaments from Pier One every year and they are so neat, I have them all from like the last 5 years (they only put out about 5-6 each year) and all of them are hand painted from the inside and are really one of a kind! I love them :) I have also collected the Hallmark "Our Christmas Together" ornaments every year since we got married. They are also sooner of my favorite things! So really i just love they way it turns out every year...

I seriously take the most random pictures...I was going through the 400+ pictures on my phone tonight (90% of which are picture of myself or cool nails) and found this picture...

Aren't we just precious?? One of the most recent pictures of "us" in the airport with our matching shoes...Jeremy hates taking pictures for some unknown reason, but I'm pretty sure a majority of men do, must be a guy thing! I'm just lucky that I get him to do family photos once a year!!

New Blog...

So for those of you who are still following, I apologize for the lack of personal blogging. We are seriously so boring sometimes!! Anyway...I thought I'd spice things up a little a create a new blog; one that is mainly an outlet for me to talk about all the things I love on a more "girly" level (i.e. shoes, clothes, makeup, etc.). I didn't want to clog our family blog up with all that stuff but there are so many things I'm loving that I just wanted a place to share with anyone who might be interested!! Now that doesn't mean this blog is done for!!! I will still be posting on here about our family and what we are up to...and now that "there's an app for that" (Blog Press--for anyone interested) I am really going to try to update more frequently!

Bye, bye glasses!!

So in case I you haven't heard Jeremy got corrective eye surgery a couple weeks ago!! Lucky duck! Everything went pretty smoothly, now we are just waiting on things to finish healing up and be will be good to go. He already sees much better than before, but everything will get even more clear as the days go by (fingers crossed!). The procedure he had done was called PRK which essentially removes the layers of your eye! Ouch!! It takes longer to heal from but with Jeremy's job it was the procedure they suggested he get...I bore you with all the "military" details! Anyway...that's all the excitement that has really been going on on our side out the pond, but stay tuned I'm going to Amsterdam in a couple of weeks so I'm sure there will be plenty of pictures to share! Until then enjoy this LOVELY picture of me and my honey...J's last pre-surgery picture with glasses!! And yes I am wearing a sombrero....

My best friend is getting MARRIED!!

Roma 2010

*WARNING* This is a very LONG post!!

So I finally got all of the Rome pictures that I wanted to share with everyone, so before my life gets more hectic with school again I thought I'd get this post up! Although this trip had it's ups and downs it was such an amazing opportunity to see everything that we got to see in such a short period of time! How many people just get to go to one of the most historic cities in the World for a quick weekend getaway? I must say...I'm lucky. I'd love to eventually take Jeremy back to enjoy this lovely city with me. Here is a basic run down of our amazing 3 day getaway!

Day 1

Arrived at the airport @ 4:30am.
Boarded the plane @ 5:45am.
Landed in Rome @ 9:30am.

Took the taxi to the metro station, the metro station to a closer metro station and then walked though the FASHION district to get to our hotel. Let me just say I about died walking down this street...Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Prada, Dior, Fendi, etc. It was a fashion lovers dream!! If only I could afford to even go in those stores! Let me just say they were BUSY...those Italian love their designer!

Once we reached our quaint little hotel we got settled in, and hit the streets of Rome to do a little sight seeing. We wandered through an adorable Christmas market and enjoyed a quick bite to eat in front of the Pantheon. Even though it was being excavated it was still an amazing site to see! Onve we were done there it was off to the Trevi fountains. That was my favorite! It was SO beautiful, and amazing!! This fountian was HUGE the statues were amazing, I can't even imagine how much work was put into it. The artistry was beautiful! We didn't make it up there in the evening, but I hear they are a beautiful site to see at night!

Day 2

Our second day there got off to a little bit of a rough start. Fortunately we made it out of the hotel by 10:30am and headed straight to St. Peter's Basilica and the Vatican City. We were very fortunate to have the most beautiful weather on on trip! All three days were sunny and in the mid 50's. Tis was amazing considering England this time of year is FREEZING. Since we walked nearly everywhere this made the trip very enjoyable!

We got the chance to actually walk up the basilica! It was BEAUTIFUL to see the city from so high up! Even though the walk was long...551 stairs(!!!) it was well worth it! I got some pretty good shots up there...can you believe these were all taken on my iPhone!?

After our trip up the basilica we decided to grab a bite to eat at a cute Italian pizzeria. They pizza was SO good!! I loved the food here!! I swear I gained like 5lbs on this vacation, but who cares right!? You only live once! After we ate we headed back to the Vatican Mesuem to see the Sistine Chapel, but had missed the closing time by about 20min! I was a little bummed about it, but I had already seen some many remarkable things at this point, I wasn't too upset! After that we headed to the castle of St. Angelo. It was neat to sit in there as the sun went down. We had the most beautiful view of Vatican city at night. We literally stayed inside the castle until we were kicked out because it had closed! It was a lot of fun though.

Day 3

Our third and final day in Rome hectic, but fun! We left the hotel at about 9:30am and headed straight to the Colosseum. What an amazing sight to see! It was so crazy walking down the road to see the the Colosseum just right in front of you. It was almost unreal. Even though it's been worn down over the ages, it so cool! I couldn't believe the architecture of half of the buildings in the old city.

Once we were finished with the Colosseum we headed to the Roman Forum. There are SO many old Roman ruins here it was incredible. It blows my mind to think these buildings have been here for hundreds of years!

After this we headed to the Hard Rock Cafe Roma to eat some yummy food before heading back to England! The Bartender here was SO nice to us, it was a very fun lunch and a lovely way to end our little getaway! After lunch we headed back to the hotel to grab our things, making a quick stop at the Spanish steps. They were neat, but I hear they are better at night. After this our good weather streak must have run it course because it started to rain! As soon as a single drop had fallen from the sky all of these vendors came out of no where to sell umbrellas! It was so funny...walking back to the hotel was cool because almost everyone on the street had an open umbrella, it was a cool site to see! Anyway I hope you enjoyed reading out our fun trip! Can't wait to see where we will go next!

So I know I'm a little behind on posting, but I promise I'm trying to get better! I still owe you more pictures from Rome, which I will post, I was just waiting to get the disc of pictures from one of the other girls since my camera died the first day!! Anywho...with the New Years comes new resolutions...and mine will be trying to get better at this whole blogging business, or really just writing more in general!

Jeremy and I had a pretty quiet Christmas this year. It was nice to be with each other, but as our third Christmas away we really missed the family! It's just not the same when there is no family to share it with! Only 1 more Christmas left here in England!! It's weird to say that...but only a year and a half until this England adventure is over. Crazy how time goes by so quickly. This year we are definitely going to travel more so we can see as much as we can before we have to leave!

Before I go I will share a new picture...with the New Year of course comes NEW HAIR (for now!)! LoL...I didn't chance much, just cut some bangs :) Something a little differnt for awhile!

Girls Weekend!

This weekend I was able to go with a couple of girlfriends to ROME!! Never in my life did I ever think I'd get to go to Rome, and never once did I think it would be easy enough for to take a quick weekend getaway to one of the most amazing cities in the World! Living in England has definitely given me a great opportunity to see things I might have never gotten the chance to see! I'm still in awe that I was actually in Italy this weekend, the the presence of some of the oldest history ever! I don't have time to write a full report today, but I thought I'd put up a picture or two until I do get a chance to give the whole run down of the trip!!

So as of September I have officially been self-employed! I have gone full time doing nails out of my house, and I must say it was the best decision I have made!! Happy 4th of July everyone!! I hope that everyone has a safe weekend! We are getting ready to go to the 4th of July celebrations happening on base tonight, but I thought I would post a couple of pictures of my cute girls!! I love them so much! We had a close call with Lily last weekend when she got out of a friends yard and we looked for her nearly 2 hours until she was returned by a couple of old ladies. Thank goodness!!! Either way Jeremy, Harlow, and Lily and Myself with everyone a great Holiday! I will post more later :)

Our Island Getaway!

So I know I have been a COMPLETE slacker in the blogger department, but I will seriously try to get better. Instead of trying to catch up on the last 4 months I'm just going to start new!! Starting with our Island Getaway to Fuerteventura Canary Islands!! This trip has been a long time coming!! We've been trying to get it together for about a year and we finally got to go with our good friends Jim and Mitzi and their little girl Kaylee. We went the first week of May and had SO much fun just relaxing a laying around the pool/beach and eating tons of good food! After all isn't that what vacations are for!?

I must say I've been the biggest SLACKER when it comes to blogging...I'll read everyone's, but never have time to update my own! However that is going to change once I finish up this class I'm in! Yes I found this...my sleep little puppy! She is SO freaking cute! Jeremy left to go to Texas for some training on Saturday, and this little on curled right up on his pillow! I think she misses her Daddy! Priceless!

21st Birthday!

So it was a big birthday for me this year! The big 21!! Woot. I didn't only have a birthday, I had an entire weekend devoted to my 21st thanks to my friends! The festivities started out on my real birthday (May 28th- for those that don't now). Jeremy and I stayed at home and had a lovely evening just relaxing, watching movies, and I even made some birthday cupcakes! For my birthday my wonderful husband gave me some gorgeous Swarovski crystal earrings and necklace! They are so lovely! He definitely spoils the heck out of me! My mom sent me a really cute pillow, and wall hanging that she embroidered that were so cute! Grandma also sent jewelry--a beautiful silver pendant. Aunt Ted sent me a way cute shirt and earings, while Grandma Gunnell sent me some homemade wash cloths (which are the best!!) and a little spending money! I have the sweetest most thoughtful family...I'm so lucky to have all of them! Birthday weekend continued on Friday by going out to dinner with our friends Lara and Stephan! They were headed out of town to visit Stephan's family so they weren't able to make it to our BBQ on Saturday so they decided to take us to dinner instead! We went to a great little Thai restaurant out by their house, and let me tell you it was DELICIOUS!! Lara also spoiled me for my birthday! She gave me a gorgeous Swarovski crystal necklace that was a little peace sign. It was one I had seen in a shop and really wanted! She remembered and got it for me for my birthday! It was so sweet of her...she is such a great friend! On Saturday night we had a BBQ with all of our friends. Since my Birthday was on a Thursday we decided to have our little get together that Saturday. We had a really nice time BBQ-ing hamburgers and hotdogs and playing some Texas Hold'em. It was really a great time! We have so many great friends that came out to celebrate and have fun with us...having them all around makes it a little easier to be away from family. Here is a few pictures from the fabulous birthday weekend...there aren't many but there are a few to enjoy!

Happenings...

I have to say I've been a slacker here with my blog! And to thoes that read, I'm sorry (Hi Grandma!) I promise that I will try to be better! April was a pretty busy month for both Jeremy and myself, we FINALLY got Lily free, Jeremy took me paintballing for the first time, we did a crazy awesome tree climbing/swinging Tarzan like thing, and we got a kitchen table!!

Paintball was SO fun! I have always avoided going because I've always been afraid that I'm going to be a little wuss and run away crying...not to mention I usually have to work. I So wish I would have gone sooner! We had so much fun, for being my first time I didn't do too bad, but I cannot wait to go again. I did walk away with a massive bruise on my arm, but I have to say it was a pretty cool battle wound to walk away with! Now I just have to get my husband to buy me a pink gun, and some sweet pink and white gear and mask! I cannot wait to go again!!

A few weeks prior to going paintballing we went to something here called GO APE! It was SO fun. Basically it's like this obstacle course in the forest that takes place in the trees, 50-100 ft in the air! You do have a harness and stuff but you basically cross all of these ropes, and walk across tight wires and stuff and at the end of each obstacle you go down a HUGE zip line! It was pretty awesome...and I had a lot of fun even though I'm not a huge fan of heights. I didn't really get a lot of pictures of Jeremy and I in the trees 'cause we were the last ones to go and when the camera is attached to you it's hard to get pictures! When I get the other pictures from other people I'll have to post those too!

After almost a year and a half of TV trays we finally have a dining room table!! Woot Woot! I couldn't be happier about this! I've been wanting a table since before we got married, and after Lily got put in quarantine it wasn't really a priority! But finally after we got our tax return we took a little bit of the money and got ourselve a gorgeous table! I have to post pictures 'cause I told my mom that i would so she could see! LOVE IT!!

Well I guess that's all for now! Hopefully May will be just as full filling! I have my 21st Birthday to look forward to at the end of May, and Anna is coming to visit us at the end of August for the entire month of September! I couldn't be more excited to have my best girly friend come out here and spend time with me! Oh and I promise I will be better and keeping everyone updated! Until next time...

Lily!

Well as most of you know from my previous rant and rave back in October our precious Lily was in quarantine here in England for the last sixth months! We were absolutely devastated when she arrived in England only to find out that the vets had done all the procedures that would have allowed her into the country without quarantine in the wrong order! **Note- if you want to read about the whole ordeal there is a whole blog dedicated to what happened in my October blogs** So finally April 23 came around and we FINALLY got to pick up our precious baby!! It's SO great to have her home with us...we've missed her SO much. Since coming home she has adjusted so well to being here. We thought it would be rough for her, but she's be SO fabulous. She is a lot calmer now than she was when we first had her...I don't know if that's because she older and more mature now, or because she's absolutely traumatized from being in a kennel for 6 months! Either way it is kinda nice to have her more calm than before. Also we have a yard here at our house in England which is great because she can just go outside and run around and we don't have to worry...and let me tell you, she LOVES the freedom! Since being home she has slept with us EVERY night! She's developed a new habit of during the middle of the night crawling to the top of the bed and putting her head on my pillow, but keeping her body under the covers, it's SO cute! Thank goodness she's not a huge dog!! She has also made some new little friends since being released from jail...Mojo and Calypso (Jim and Mitzi's maltese's) and Emmett (Derek and Naomi's toy rat terrier). She loes having her friends come over to play! It's good to hace her socializing with other dogs again since she didn't have that luxury in prison! I could go on and on about how it's so great to have her home! I knew that we missed her, but having her home again really makes me realize how much we've missed having her around the house! It really has veen great to have here home again! WE LOVE YOU LILY!!!

Small Update...

So it's been awhile since I posted last so I thought I should give everyone a quick update!! Jeremy and I had our first anniversary February 28th! I can't believe that one year has gone by since we tied that knot! I can't wait to share many more years, and build a family with my best friend! Love you babe!

Two days after our anniversary Jeremy celebrated his 25th birthday! We just had a nice evening at home since it was a work night but we always have fun relaxing. When the weekend came his friends had a little get together for him which was pretty fun.

Not much else has been going on...we've mostly just been working and saving money for when our Lily gets out of jail. We've only got a couple of weeks to go but we are SO excited! We have missed her SO much. I can't wait to see my little Lily Bug!

Having Tea with the Queen!

Last Sunday Jeremy and I took a trip down to London with a friend to visit the imperial war museum. This was Jeremy's first trip to London and he had a really great time. We can't wait to go back so I can spend more time showing him the sights while it's light outside. It was really neat to see all of the historic stuff...but since I'm not way big into history, I just got a little bored and started taking pictures of everything. Jeremy and our friend Ian on the other hand had a great time! I will say it was interesting and I did learn a lot, but I will say that once we were finished with the 6 levels of history I was seriously ready to go eat some dinner! We went to the Hardrock Cafe in London which was the first one ever built. There I did learn some history...did you know thta the hard rock was started by 2 American Guys in 1971. They opened it up near Hyde Park in London in an old Rolls Royce dealership. However it wasn't until 1979 when they started collecting Rock Memorobillia when Eric Clapton (a regulare at the London restaurant) donated a guitar so they would save him a his favorite table in the restuarant! This began the collecting of the Rock and Roll memorobillia from all around the world! See I told you that I learned something :) Here are some of our pictures from the day...

Olive and Blue

So last weekend Jeremy and I got ourselves two little Lovebirds! I have been wanting one for the longest time, and finally found a breeder out here! I only wanted to get a hand reared bird as they are much nicer to humans, and slightly easier to train than those that have been raised by their parents in a aviary setting! Well I found a breeder online in early January, and have been communicating with her ever since about my little Olive. See I was only planning on getting one lovebird--as it's a very common assumption that they will bond to a human better if they don't have a mate...but after seeing her with her little cage mate I could not bare to leave him there--especially after the breeder told me that she wouldn't have much time for him in a previous conversation. Well Jeremy just thought that they were so cute we decided to take both of them home with us! They are SO cute. I'm so glad we got both of them because when Jeremy and I are at work they can keep eachother company, however having two we are going to have to really be patient with training and taming them. Olive the little girl (we think!) Is SO cute and loving...she's still getting used to us and LOVES to fly around, but it pretty good about staying on my shoulder and cuddling up to my neck. She is really quiet and doesn't chirp too much unless she is away from her brother! Blue the little boy bird is also a cutie...but VERY fiesty (we think that the breeder didn't spend much time with him) so we have to spend extra time trying to tame his as he likes to bite. Jeremy is making it his project to "break" him to keep him occupied while Lily is in doggie jail. But none the less they are really cute and I'm so excited to have them!

2008 In a Nut Shell!

Well I've just been reminicing about the last year, and I think it's been a pretty good one! I'd like to take a minute to recap the last 12 months since they have been pretty eventful!

January- How chaotic! Jeremy and I had been engaged for one year, and finally decided on a date for our wedding! Not too much time to plan, and planning a wedding takes a lot of work! I had my Bridals taken this month, and boy what a day! It had snowed so much that day, my grandma Gunnell and I spent HOURS ironing layers, and layers, and layers of tool on my wedding dress so it would look nice in the pictures. I was also worried that I might not get to get my pictures done since it was pracically a blizzard outside! But luck must have been on my side as it stopped snowing just in time to get some awesome pictures! Jeremy also got to spend time this month bonding with Lily as he'd just gotten her for Christmas.

February- This month changed my life forever. Jeremy surprised me by driving from Cali to Utah with Doug several days earlier than expceted and arrived in the middle of the night! However I did ruin the surprise since I was TERRIFIED of the storm that they encountered on the way here! Obviously he made it there safe, and on February 28th I married my best friend! It's was a beautiful day with our friends and family! One will never forget! I LOVE YOU BABY!!

March- Jeremy turned 24! Only 3 days after our wedding Jermey had his birthday. It was nice since we got to spend it with Jeremy's best friend Doug who had recently moved to California. I also moved to Texas in March. The drive from Utah to Texas is definitely a long one, but it wasn't too bad...despite not having yet purchased our GPS and going the old fasion route--using a road map, we eventually found our way there, saw some beautiful scenery driving out of Utah, and managed not to kill eachother being trapped in a car for 2 days!

April- Nothing too eventful happend this month. Jeremy and I spent most of the time working, and preparing for our move.

May- We were supposed to move to England in May, but had to have our date pushed back by 60 days since we had not recieved all of the medical work for clearance! It's a lot of work to move overseas! I also turned 20 on the 28th, I know I know I'm a baby! Jeremy took me to Sea World San Antonio for my Birthday and Memorial day, which was super fun! And one of my favorite shows became a movie which Courtney and I took off work to go and see on opening night. We'd been waiting FOREVER, and it was totally worth it!

June- Not much going on this month either, mostly just getting ready for the move. Packing up things that we wouldn't be needing, and going through things to get rid of stuff we didn't need to move!

July- We had a fun 4th watching fireworks in Abilene! It was my first 4th not being in Utah, but we still had fun BBQ-ing with our friends! A few weeks later we drove to Utah to take Lily to my parents. It was too hot for her to fly with us out of Texas during the summer so she had to stay behind until the weather was safe for her to come! It was SO hard leaving her since she is our baby! This time we had a GPS, and have since asked ourselves why we waited until our second trip to get one! I also dyed my hair dark brown--it was cute, but I totally don't know what I was thinking! And finally the big day arrived on the 25th we boarded our flight to England to start our overseas adventure!

August- Getting settled and finding a house in England was the top priority on our agenda. Luckily we got a great house on base in just a few weeks, and were moved in only 3 weeks or so after our arrival! Although we didn't have of our furniture for about 2 months it was still great to be in an actual house rather than a hotel! I also got they chance to go on my first trip to London which was very fun!

September- Let's see, the month started off great, Jeremy surprised me with tickets to see Dirty Dancing. We were also busy trying to get everythign coordinated with my parents to have Lily sent to us. We missed her SOOOO much, and it was killing us to not have her here. Not to mention I was pretty lonely without my little munchkin to keep my company!

October- All of our things FINALLY arrived! After waiting what felt like FOREVER, we finally got our shipment of things, and finally started to feel like we actually lived here. We also had Lily sent to us! Unfortunatly she had to be placed in quarantine for 6 months because of a vet screw up with her stateside quarantine. We were so devistated! We get to see her most every weekend but really miss having her at the house. We cannot wait to get her in April!

November- Our first Thanksgiving together! We have made so many friends here and we had a wonderful Thanksgiving with our family away from home. I made the Ham, the yams, deviled eggs, and a few pies! But it was really fun spending time with our new friends. Jermey's new shop has been so great at welcoming us. He actually enjoys going to work! We are so thankful for all of the great friends we have made this year!

December- In the 3 years that we have been together we've never got to spend the Holidays together. This was our first Christmas together, and we were both very excited! We started the season by getting our first Christmas tree, which we loved having--I'm very sad to be taking it down! I was very spoiled this year with a Wii, and Jeremy with the new things for his xbox. We also had a lovely Christmas dinner with our friends from Jermey's shop. It was great! We had so much fun just spending time together with people we love. Nothing beats family, but you make due with what you have, and we have some pretty great friends!

Can't wait to see what 2009 has in store for us!!

Christmas!!

This year was our first Christmas together as a married couple, and we had a great one! Jeremy spoiled me rotten! I woke up Christmas morning to find I had more gifts that I even expected under the tree, and one special one that was from "Santa" himself ;) Jeremy was pretty excited about opening presents and woke me up at around 10 so we could exchnage gifts. There's are only like 2 pictures of Jeremy opening his gifts, as he was adimate that he man the camera! He was espcailly excited about me opening my surprise...a Wii!! I was so excited since I have been wanting a Wii for the longest time! I also got some perfume, a few CD's, and a game that teaches Chinese. Jeremy got a Wi-fi adaptor for his xbox, 12-months of xbox live, some books, cologne, and The Dark Knight DVD. After presents, we hung out at home for a majority of the day, mostly lounging around and taking naps! Later that nigt we went to a friends house for dinner, which was fun, but we sure did miss being around family! But you have to make the most of the friends you have when you're away from home! Overall I'd say that we had a great Christmas!

Lily's Christmas Visit

Sadly Jeremy and I are still missing Lily! But on the bright side we've got 2 months down and a little less than 4 left to go until we can bring our baby home! Our friend Mitzi (who is also a fellow dog lover--she has a maltese/shitzu mix names Mojo, and a Maltese names Calypso) made Lily her own stocking for Christmas, and Jeremy made Lily a doggie jacket for the cold England weather, so we took her the surprises right before the Holidays. She was SO excited to see us, and she didn't seem to mind her coat, dispite her extreme dislike for doggie clothing. But I'm convinced that she's just smart and knows it's freezing, so she knows what's good for her to keep it on! It actually looked really cute on her too, Jeremy did a great job! Mitzi also put a TON of treats, a new toy and some doggie reindeer antlers in her stocking. She didn't enjoy those much, but we did manage to take a few cute pictures with them on her for a few minutes! Over all we were very excited to see her, and can't waint until we get to bring her to her new home so she can finally get settled!

Our Beautiful Tree!

This year I was SO excited to put up our very own Christmas tree. Since we didn't have one, my wonderful hubby too me to get one the day after Thanksgiving! We got a great deal on our 7 1/2 foot pre lit tree! And he let me buy all the decorations as well! Since it was the day after Thanksgiving of course we got a great deal on most everything! I was so excited to get it up once we got home. So Jeremy got it out of the box and started setting it up, once it was up we discovered that the middle portion of the tree would not light! So after going through and trying to find the bulb at large and not finding it, we just ended up replacing the entire strand! So much for pre-lit ;) But once we got over that hurdle I was able to decorate it. Oh and since this is our first Christmas together I had to get the "Our First Christmas-2008" ornament! Jeremy hung it by a light "so you can see what it says!" -- he's so cute! He also says that his favorite part about coming home from work (aside from me lol) is that he gets to see the tree with it's glittering lights in the window! I'm very proud of my tree, I must say this is probably a skill I accquire from my Grandma Gunnell, who I must say is the master of Christmas tree decorations! Anyhow, I think that it turned out nicely!

Holiday Party!!

Last Friday was Jeremy's squadron Holiday Party. We had so much fun getting dressed up and spending the evening with our friends. I even almost won a WII, but alas came in 3rd! Dang it! Anyhow I just wanted to share our pictures from that evening. Oh and for some reason my camara was taking real bad pictures, they all turned out fuzzy for some reason!

Night Out!

Since we've lived here we havne't really got to go out a lot. Since Jeremy and I are mostly homebodies and enjoy curling up with a blanket and watching 24 (our current television obsession!), or watching a football game at a friends house going out to the cities isn't always at the top of our "to-do list." However occasionally we do like to get dressed up in something other than sweat pants and go to dinner with our friends, which is exactly what we did last night! We had so much fun getting together with our friends Lara (my best mate!!) and Stephen, James, Josh, and Whitney and KC. We had a blast going to Bury, and eating at a great Spanish restaurant that James introduced us all too! The food was great but the dessert was better! Lara and I shared chocolate fodue, with strawberries, apple pieces, and churros and it was AMAZING, me having the sweet tooth that I do could have just had that for dinner! After dinner we all went to a dance club, which really isn't our thing because of the noise, but we did had a lot of fun dancing around for a couple hours. Even walking 2 miles back to the car in the FREEZING cold and high heels wasn't so bad because of the great company! We love our new friend here, they are all so different and great, and have all been so welcoming! Jeremy's shop has been so great in including us, and we've made some really great frienships through them. Here are some pictures from the night with our great friends!

Lily in Doggie Jail!!

On Monday of last week I went to see Lily in quarantine (aka doggie jail) this Saturday Jeremy and I were both able to go see her and it was so exciting to see our little dog! Jeremy was so excited to see her, because it's been three months since the last time he saw his baby! Lily was so excited to see Jeremy as well as soon as she saw him she just kept jumping up and licking his face! It was a cute little reunion. Although when it was time to go I must say she did make us feel guilty by crying while we left. It was sad! We did have a great visit though and will be going back every week to see her! We can't wait until April when she can finally come home!

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays! This year Jeremy volenteered for "pumpkin patrol" to make all the kids on base were being safe while trick-or-treating and I stayed home to pass out candy (they onlike trick-or-treat from 6-8 on base). After Jeremy got home we had a few friends over to watch movies and eat left over candy! Here are a few pictures...Notice I'm the only one that embraced the Halloween spirit with a costume, maybe next year we can convince the others!

Sad Day for Lily Lovers :(

As most everyone knows Jeremy and I have a precious little beagle named Lily! We absoluetly love her to death, and she's pretty much like our baby! Today we recieved some pretty hard news that I wanted to share with everyone to give the a little update on the situation...

Jeremy and I have really been looking forward to going to London to pick up Lily today! We've been counting down since July, and getting her ready to come over since January!! Let me just say that getting a dog ready to come over to the UK is A LOT of work. You need to get the Microchipped, and get rabies shots, and have a favon test done--which is a blood work test that takes about 6 months to process, and even get a puppy passport or (EU journal). Well since we couldn't bring her with us in July since the runways were too hot, we had to arrange for her to stay in Utah with my parents, and they would put her on a plane to come to us! Well we were under the impression everything was taken care of, as our vets in TX had assured us we were doing everything right. So after waiting 3 long months and a 2 hour commute to London we were so ready to see our baby! We find the place with ease, walk in the building and tell them we're there to pick up our dog! After about 10 minutes a woman from DEFRA (the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) approaches us. DEFRA is in charge of going over all the paperwork that you have to get to send your dog to the UK-- This woman starts to tell Jeremy and I that it looks like there is a issue in Lily's paperwork that concerns them--"it looks as though her rabies shot was given to her before she was microchipped..." She proceeds to tell us that in order for the Europeon Union to pass our puppy and let her into the country is by following a procedure that intails a getting things done in a certain order 1) Microchip, 2) Rabies shots and 3) Favon blood work-- Our vet gave the rabies shot first. Well DEFRA wanted to call our vet to make sure that the information showing was correct, or maybe the dates had been mistakenly been written incorrectly. Unfortunatly due to the fact that we're about 6 hours ahead of TX we were advised to go home (without even seeing our dog!!) because there was nothing that we could do until they talked to a vet. Well around 5:30 I recieved a call that they got a hold of the vet the found the information had not been a mistake and had accidentaly been done in the wrong order. So basically what this means is that our Lily failed, and we would now be required to make a decision to send her back to the U.S. or quarantine her for 6 months here in the UK. What a NIGHTMARE!!! Basically we've come to the decision that we're going to put her in quarantine until she is ready to be realesed into our care. Trust me this is not a cheap process, and we've already paid a large amount of money to fly her here in the first place!

So tomorrow we are meeting with the quarantine facility to make arrangements for our baby. She will have to stay there until about April 24. She will be in about 40 miles away from us and we are allowed to visit her which is good, but because of our work schedules we will only be able to go on Saturdays. It has been such a awful experience and we can only imagine what she is going through, being around people she doesn't know all alone. We feel absolutely terrible, and I've been in tears for most of the day!! We just hope that the next 24 weeks go by super fast so we can finally be with our baby again. We love her so much!

I just want to say thank you to everyone who has supported us through this time. My mom and dad have been SOOO helpful, and my Grandma has offered us more than we could have asked for. I am so lucky to have such an amazing family, that offers us such love and support! Thanks for you help during this hard time for Jeremy and I. We love you!

The Big Give

I recently discovered a new show that has just warmed my heart! Oprah's Big Give premiered tonight and all I can say is that it is truely a show worth watching! I turned it on by chance tonight while Jeremy was in the other room playing xbox, and I literally could not peel myself away from the TV. The show follows 10 contestants as they compete to change the lives of others. Given challenges each week, they try to earn money and make the biggest differences in people lives. Tonight they helped a woman who's husband was brutally murdered only six weeks ago, and was now worried about paying a morgage, and getting her twin duaghters through school, another was a woman who started a foundation for children with downsyndrome, and desperatly needed a bigger establishment and more musical equipment for all the people she was helping. Another was a woman with 2 childres that was homeless, and couldn't get on her feet, and a young man helping children achieve their dreams as he had to become a doctor and now struggling to pay student loans. Finally a man discharged from the Marines with 3 purple hearts, and now didn't know where he and his family would live. The five teams truely helped make a difference in these people lives in only 5 days. They were able to raise money for houses, and large amounts for morgages and loans. It is amazing what people can do when the come together for such a good cause!! I can truely say that there were several times that I was brought to tears by the kindness of these ordinary individuals determined to give to others in ways that the recipients would have never imagined! It was truely amazing!

After watching I challged myself to try and so something nice for someone everyday. You really don't know how much of a difference you can make in someone's life. You don't have to raise large amounts of money, or buy people cars, but just the smallest acts of kindness can make somebodys day. I recenly read a friend's blog where she addressed a similar topic, and talked about how she made a nice comment towards a friend, and in return he expressed how much that ment for her to say that about him. He then expressed his feelings towards my friend, and how much her friendship ment to him. You never know who's life you may be touching, or how much somethng might mean to someone!

I know that we have all been in situations where people have reached out to us, and it should be our priority to reach out to others that may need our help! Even in times of economic peril, it's so important to lean on one another, and to offer all the help that we can! I challenge everyone that reads this to try and make a differnce in peoples lives, make it a goal for yourself to give back to those in need, or to reach out to those that might need a helping hand!

After almost 3 months of living here in England, our things from our Apartment in the states FINALLY arrived today!! I am so excited. It's like Christmas time for us getting to unpack all of our things! We had so many wedding gifts that we didn't even get to unpack yet because of the move, so it really is like opening stuff and being surprised!! I am honestly more excited than I have been in awhile! We finally have our own bed, our own couch, dishes, and ALL of our clothes and shoes!! I will post some pictures of the house as soon as I get everything set up, and all of these boxes out of the house!

Dirty Dancing

One of my favorite movies of all time is Dirty Dancing, so when Jeremy came home from work on Friday and surprised me with tickets to Dirty Dancing on stage in London I was super surprised! I have such a wonderful loving husband who spoils me very much!! The show was at 7:30 this evening and we arrived just in time to eat dinner and then go to the show. It was great we had some much fun! Although it was pretty long, it was so good. The girl that played Baby looked just like Jenifer Gray! The music was amazing, and the singers were great! This is definitely something I will always remember!

I finally went to London! What a great experiance that was. I got to spend the day in great company, see historical things, and do a little shopping. The day was so beautiful and we got to see some great things, all the big tourist attractions the Green Park, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, The Westminster Abby and the London Eye! Not only that but we did hit a few stores and went to Starbucks! We had such a wonderful day it is just my luck that I go an ruin it at the end! While we were here we found a great makeup store called house of fraser, and I found some great makeup that I decided to get! After spending 40 pounds, which is the equivilant to $80 in the U.S. I had to go and leave my new purchases on the train on our way back! I was super bummed so I had to get that out there! I did however fill out a report for missing items so hopefully they will turn up here in the new few days! It was a great day but I just have to gripe about this one incident because I was really, really bummed! Anyways, back to the good stuff...

Marilyn and I on the subway ride to London. Marilyn is my friend that I met on Myspace about a year ago. Her and her husband are also stationed here at Lakenheath for another 2 years.

When we first got off the train we went and ate at the Hard Rock Cafe London. This hard Rock was the first one ever built! And it was crazy busy! We did have a nice lunch though! After that we went to the little gift shop to pick up a couple things and then went across the street to Green Park. Green Park is so lovely. It was such a beautiful day today, so many people were out basking in the lovely sun! You might recognize Green Park from movies that are also filmed there!

Buckingham Palace- it is SO big. The gates in front are gorgeous and plated in gold. There was no changing of the gaurds today but we still got a glimpse of them of them! You'd think they get hot in these outfits!

You can see some much from in front of Buckingham palace. Not only are there beautiful gardens, but you can also see Big Ben and the London eye!

Another great place that we got to see was Westminster Abbey, it was gorgeous. I love seeing all of the historic buildings they are so beautiful, and pictures really don't do them justice.

Something funny that Marilyn pointed out to me was that the Abbey has one window on it that isn't even a real window at all! It's painted on!

So this is where it all started...clocks I mean! Right down the street from the Abbey is Big Ben. I must admit that I didn't think this would be so cool, but I was floored when I saw it! It is so gorgeous in person, I took so many pictures of it!

And right across the street from Big Ben is the London Eye. We didnt' go on it today but I'm sure we will before we leave! The London Eye is right off of the River Thames! I've heard it's really beautiful at night, we're thinking we'll go back on New Years Eve!

I offically feel like a tourist, and I live here! I'm so excited to go again! We had such a beautiful day, and we couldn't have asked for better weather either! I can't wait to go again!

6 MONTHS!!

It's official, Jeremy and I have made it 6 months as husband and wife! We decided that 6 months was a big deal because you're half way done with the frist year, which everyone says is the hardest! I dunno if that's the case, as we've had a pretty good year so far, although we do hope that we wont be moving anytime soon twice in a year is good enough! I decided to surprise Jeremy and cook him a reallyl nice dinner, we had a tomato and onion salmon, with brocoli and hollindise sauce. I do have to say it turned out very nicely. Cooking has been something I've taken up since saying "I Do!" Jeremy in turn decided that he would suprise me as well. He I must say that boy spoils me! After letting me order a bunch of stuff online last night, he also brought me home 6 roses for the six months we've been together, and the movie what happens in Vegas! It was so thoughtful! I would have just settled for an "I love you!" I am so lucky to have Jeremy in my life, he is such a wonderful caring person. I love how well he compliments my personality, he is truely one of th emost patient people I know! I'm so glad to have met this wonderful guy!

Disconnected!

So after waiting nearly a month to get internet and televsion we still don't have it! Last Friday was the delivery date for our broadband package, so I stayed home all day waiting for it to be delivered. By the time Jeremy got home at around 3:00 it still hadn't come so I thought that I should just call and get an estimate on the time when it would be here. So I call BT (British Telecom) and they inform me that i need to call the deliver service. Which I do. The delivery service then informs me that I need to call BT and get a "parcal number" so I call them back and after bouncing me around for nearly 30 minutes they tell me that my order has actually ben cancelled and I'll have to place the order again. By this time I am nearly in tears. So I tell the lady that she is going to have to talk to my husband. Well Jeremy gets on the phone with them and tries to get down to business, and after transferring him about a hundred times he finally asks to speak to a supervisor, and of course after asking that everyone is more than willing to help you! So after three hours on the phone, plus the 45 minutes that I spent on the phone we finally figured out that our internet was mysteriously cancelled, we were never notified and we had to place the order again. So now (cross your fingers) we will get internet next Monday (sept 1) and get our television set up on sep 9. This has been such a nightname!!

Since I do online classes I had them postponed by 6 weeks while we moved but my classes have since started and I have no internet!! Needless to say I've been living in the library for hour at a time throughout the week to keep updated on the homework, blogging, and other various tasks that require computer access! But as of yesterday our very kind nieghbors have allowed me to have the security code for the wireless so I can finally get internet at my house and not have to haul my laptop and books down to the library everyday! Needless to say it's good excersise but does get a little tiring walking around all day, but our car will also be here on sep 9 so we will finally be mobile and get to go farther than the perimiters of the base! Woo!

And I cut some bangs so I thought i would show a picture of the new doo, and for those of you that don't know already I did in fact dye my hair brunette, but I will be back to blonde sooner or later!

Getting Settled

I haven't had interent lately to keep everyone updates, so while I'm at the libarary I figured I would give everyone a quick update on what's been going on for the last couple of weeks!

We finally got moved into our house about a week and a half ago and were really excited to get out of the temporary lodging! We are living on base and have a two bedroom one level house. It's perfect size for us. Plus it has a yard, which Lily will love once she gets here! I am really looking forward to our things getting here at the end of september so I can start decorating and really making the house feel like it is ours! Once things get here I'll put up some pictures!

We also FINALLY got all of our phone and interent figured out with the phone company after they put us through the run around to get it set up if finally got settled! We will have our land line set up tomorrow and then interent will finally be in the house on Friday! So after that hopefully I'll get to put more updates!

I have a intereview for a job on Wednesday. I'm really excited. They are opening a Spa on the neighboring base abd they are in need of more nail technicians since there are only 2 and they both have one big client load. So I'm going in for an interview on Wednesday and I'll do a set of nails and see how that goes. I'm really excited since it will offere really flexable hours so I can still do my schooling! So we'll see how that goes!

School starts up again on Thursday which I'm looking forward to! I've been off for almost 2 months so I'm ready to get back into the habit of my classes!

Jeremy is doing well. He is likeing all the new people he is working with and thinks that he will like working here, which is really good news!

Bury St. Edmonds

On Friday Jeremy and I went on a bus tour to a city called Bury St. Edmonds that's about 20 minutes away, and went on a small tour. It was pretty nice. Once we got there we ate at a little pub with the group and then went to St. Edmondsbury Cathedral for a tour. It was really pretty and I got to take a lot of great pictures. This town was really great, like a lot of the nearby towns here they are really small and you can walk pretty much everywhere, the streets are lined with shopping, and pubs, and little coffee shops. It's really exactly like you would see in the movies. On this trip we meet Mitzi and Jim another couple that just came from Geremany and we got to know them a little bit on the trip. It's funny because we kept running into them everywhere on base, and then finally got a chance to really talk to them on this little day trip, we must have been destined to be friends since we kept running into them everywhere! But it's nice to have another married couple to go and do things with. We have already gone to dinner with them since the trip and they are really nice people that we will maintain a relationship with. I thought that I would include some of the pictures from the cathedral so everyone can see how pretty it is!

This is the outside of the Cathedral. All of the buildings in England are so unique and beautiful. The tower on the cathedral wasn't completed until 2005, and it's made out of 8,000 Tons of bricks!

The beautiful stained glass windows lined bothe sides of the Cathedral. They told the story of both the Old and New Testament. The last one if my favorite, if you look close you can see the Giraffes, and an angel petting a lion.

Some of the great treasures that the Cathedral houses. The insurance is so high to treasure these things that a lot of the castles in England send their treasures to this Cathedral to be housed.

The two goblets in the middle are from Queen Elizabeths court.

This last photo is of the font at the cathedral. The middle portion of the font is tied with the United States. The captian of one of the ships that settled in Martha's Vineyard used this same font to baptize his Daughter Martha.

Well that's all the pictures I have for now. I didn't get around to taking any pictures of me and Jeremy, but there will be plenty of those later!

Finally Arrived!

Well we're finally here! After several long months of getting ready for this move we have finally arrived in England! We are really excited to start our new life here and take advantages of this great oppurtunity! I've started this blog as a way to keep everyone updated on the going-ons of what's happening overseas! After arriving in London around 6:45 a.m, going through the boarder, and driving to the base, we finally got settled into our "temporary houseing" (which is really just a fancy name for a hotel room with a kitchen) at around 10:30 a.m. Naturally we both fell asleep until around 8'0clock in the evening! Talk about jet lag! Then we woke up and walked around the base, to find something to eat and discovered a Subway on base! So we still have something a little more recognizable! We walked around exploring the area for a little while until it started to rain and then returned to the hotel room! Again after eating a watching a little TV (there are only about 10 channels we get so not a big variety!) we got went to bed and slept until morning. It's safe to say we're now starting to adjust.

For about a year now I have been corresponding with a girl named Marilyn. She and her husband have been stationed here for about 13 months now. Well we finally met on Sunday and she took me for a drive to show me around town a little bit. She also took me to a little pub down the road where we had lunch. It was really good! Their cokes come in glass bottles! But the food wasn't bad either ;) She had me and Jeremy over at her house where we met her husband and stayed and visited for a bit. She has already offered to take me to London and show me around down there. So we're planning a trip out there this coming Saturday we're taking the subway. I'm pretty excited, it will be a neat experiance and I will take lots of pictures!

The weather here is pretty nice right now. It's a lot like the weather back in the states in the summer time. It's pretty warm, I can still wear sandels and capris. They don't have much air conditioning here though so the rooms sometimes gets a little warm but they do have fans, so that makes it feel a little more comfortable. It is very humid though, it makes me feel like my makeup is melting off! But it's not so bad. It has already rained, but it wasn't too bad, just like a summer shower. Right now because it's summer they have very long days, but I guess in the winter there will only be about 4 hours of daylight. Right now we're starting to get at the end of summer, but I guess in the earlier months it gets light about 4 a.m and doesn't get dark until 11 p.m. Talk about a long day!!

It is really pretty here. We live out in the country, in a county called Suffolk, which is very green and lush. The roads are very small and curvy! The houses are all very small, and they have little windows. It's just like you see in the movies! People ride their bikes everywhere, jeremy and I are probably going to get a couple since gas prices like in the U.S. are very high, only here you pay for gas by the liter instead of the gallon. People ride their bikes in the road because it's illegal for them to ride on the sidewalk so cars just go right around them, and people park right in the road too! And like I said the roads aren't that big!
